Armed
with its razor-sharp blade and artisan-held beading needle, FARAH KHAN sets
spring 2012 in motion with high-octane dresses, studied motifs and a string of
techno-colours. Signature shapes are re-imagined with leaner silhouettes and
more fitted structures.
Spring
dressing calls for the brightest style. This season’s show-stopper is charged
in shocking hues, and emerges with techno-lines in colour-block settings.
Monochromatic dresses are cinched at the waist, and presented in eye-popping
shades for a chic finish.
Using
her studied eye for signs and symbols, Creative Director Farah Khan created a
pattern by observing horological movements. The adaption of this hard-edged,
almost industrial-like pattern into feminine shapes (such as a skirt and
one-butterfly-sleeve dress) creates a juxtaposition of hard and soft. Her
appreciation of Orientalism muscles through Chinese art, creating geometric
motifs that articulates the brand’s deep connection with cultural symbols and
the natural world.
